Work At Home Ning

Okay so my friend made a website..and the chat doesn’t work! any ideas? I NEED HELP ASAP !?
Okay..It’s NING..website. The chat works on our home computers, but the laptops at school won’t let the chat connect. The pages load perfectly…but the chat doesn’t work. The chat bar on the bottom loads, but when you go to sign into it, it doesn’t go online.
It’s not the school. Some of the kids’ laptops work. Most don’t.
If you can get to the site, that would mean its not blocked by the school servers. MOST LIKELY, the chat relies on something the school computer is missing.
If I had to make a guess, I’d say the chat is based on Flash, and the school computers haven’t been updated to the latest version.
You can go to www.adobe.com to get the latest FlashPlayer and Shockwave updates for free. This might clear up the problem your having.
(updating computer may require a restart to complete.)
— Schools and companies don’t pick what PARTS of a site to block, they either block access to the whole thing, or it gets passed through. There’s no in-between. I see it more as a software issue, not blocking.
Good luck.
— PS — If upgrading Flash and Shockwave don’t help, you might just want to try a different chat.
– Dave.
— ADDED — If it is indeed blocked, there are always ways around that too. No such thing as a completely locked out or secured system.
