Does the Escondido Mellow still exist? It was used in the 70s for skin cancer treatment.?

When I was young and living near Escondido, Ca, a mellon was grown there that worked very well in the treatment of skin cancer on my stepfather. It couldn’t be eaten as it was poisonous, but on the skin cleared up the cancer quickly. He was a heavy equipment for construction of homes in Rancho Bernardo, so he was in the sun a lot.

The treatment worked well, but after he retired and moved to northern California, he didn’t need it for several years. Now at age 80, it has returned with a vengeance. I cannot find any reference to the Escondido Mellon on the Internet.


I doubt a variety of honeydew melon is going to cure cancer, but they are good for you. They aren’t poisonous though.
