Where can you find a real “Video Game Tester” job? One that does not require paying to find employers.?

I have been looking online for awhile now, months, and haven’t had any luck. I know a kid who makes $150 a day playing beta games but I haven’t asked him who he works for. Do not think I am some lazy bum who sits at home playing games all day. My system (360) has been broken for months now and I work General Labor and Construction so I am doing productive work. I would just like to be able to sit and relax after a long day, play a video game, and make a few extra dollars!


You need to check the job listings at various game companies for paid game testing positions. Note that many game companies only hire local prospects.

I also recommend http://www.gamasutra.com/jobs/ – this is a site for professionals who work in the gaming industry.

Note that game testing is not a “sit back and relax” job; it requires strenuous thought and testing – attempting to break the game, testing every minute detail, and (ideally) locating every bug. Many game testers are also required to do database entry, focus groups, team meetings, and presentations to replicate bugs found.
