Maidah is paid $250 each week plus $15 for every telephone survey she completes. Select the statement that BEST represents this situation.

(a) The more surveys she completes, the more money she makes.
(b) Maidah is not paid if she does not complete any surveys.
(c) She earns $400 if she completes 10 surveys in one week.
(d) Both (a) and (c) are true.


OK, well (a) is certainly true since she gets 15 bucks every time she completes one. (b) is false since she’s paid 250 a week no matter what. (c) is also true since what she gets if she completes 10 surveys in one week is the initial 250 plus 15 for each survey, or 250 + 10*15 = 400.

Therefore the answer is (d).
