any suggestions on finding a good job in a city where you don’t live ..yet?

I live in Omaha Ne and have a good paying job with benefits. However my Fiance lives an hour and a half away in Sioux City, IA and hates his job so he is trying to find a job here by me.
He has two Bachelors degrees one in Mass Communications and One in Theology and is having no luck finding a job here, after 4 months of trying.
Has anyone here done anything similar to this before? Is there some sort of secret we don’t know about? Any suggestions would be appreciated greatly. He has applied online and in person when he can. Apparently we are doing something wrong?


When I am looking for employees I want them NOW – not when they can move, get settled etc. etc. I also want to see them in person and interview them (Lord, but everyone looks good on paper). Just what does one do in mass communication? What industry utilizes this expertise – and is there a need for it in your city? If you have a degree in range management you wouldn’t do well in NY city. If you degree is in shipping and routing you would need to be in a hub city for the best job ops.
