Sonographer in Canada?

I’m a doctor and I have a master degree in Radiodiagnosis, and more than 6 years of experience as a diagnostic radiologist in Egypt. I’m moving to Canada next year and I want to work as a sonographer.

How do I make myself eligible to apply for this job?

After reading some articles I had the idea that an international licence is needed, if that’s correct I would like to know if this licence could be granted online? In other words, what is the best way to get the licence before leaving to Canada?

Canada is “fast tracking ” applications from Medical Doctors.

Contact the Canadian Embassy in Cairo, for further information re Immigration for Doctors to Canada. Ask to speak to a VISA Officer, at the Embassy, and make sure that you say that you are a Medical Doctor who wishes to Immigrate to Canada, to qualify to practise medicine in Canada.

Each of the 10 Provinces in Canada has it’s own Medical Certification standards, so you will have to decide where in the country you want to live and work. Here is a link to the Province of Ontario’s certification program for International Doctor’s information website. READ it carefully .

Medical Doctors are included in the list of ” the 38 occupations that are in demand ” in Canada, now. Your application will be moved along faster than other types of occupations, as we need more Doctors here in Canada.
