Can i sue a Small Home Based Beauty Business ?
Hiya me and my dads wife went to a house that does nails, eyelash extensions, waxing etc – who claimed she was qualified in eyelash extensions – when we got ours put on we could not open our eyes for 2 hours after !! we could not see !!
We then went home with them on and they claim to last for 4 weeks ! they lasted roughly 4 days !
My dads wife was in great pain when she got home and could not open her left eye – the woman who put them on in her home then admitted that she had used the wrong glue that was extreamly stong fumed and thats what caused us to not see or open our eyes !
She then took my dads wife’s eyelash extensions off and she has no eyelashes left on !! she is baldy !
I took mine off and had only short lashes left !
Can we do anything to sue this woman who then clearly told me that she was only qualified to do only acryilc nails and nothing else !!
Please help thanks – where do we stand ?

You can sue in small claims court. You can probably get all your money back and some damages but don’t expect much. It’s going to be more trouble than it’s worth. Even if you get a judgment for 500 bucks it doesn’t automatically get transferred into your account. You’ll have to go to court again to get a garnishment (which only works if you can find her bank account). There’s not a high expectation when you deal with a home based business… you get what you pay for (in the eyes of the court).
