Work At Home Help

what is a good at home work out for a beginner dancer?
i am about to start dancing and i would like to do well, what is a good at home workout to get me going and help me get stronger and more gracefull? i am doing ballet. thank you!
The tricky thing about doing workouts at home as a beginning ballet dancer is that ballet is all about technique, and doing a workout with improper technique can be harmful. Don’t do anything complicated and don’t overdo your workout.
I would do some eleves and releves every day, which your teacher will probably show you on your first day in class. These strengthen your whole leg. For your core, do some crunches, bicycles, and v-sits. To strengthen your leg in another way, sit with your back flat against a wall and your legs straight out in front of you and simply flex and point your feet repeatedly. Do pushups and planks for your core and arms.
Work on your splits, but be careful and don’t push yourself too hard or turn your hips out of place. A good exercise for middle splits is to push your butt against a wall with your legs together and pointing upwards along the wall and your back against the floor. Let your legs fall open in a sort of fan shape along the wall and gravity will do the stretching for you! Hamstrings are also very important for ballet, so make sure to stretch those. You can start out with standing and trying to touch your toes. If you prefer, sit and place your flexed feet against a wall so that your legs are perpendicular to the wall and bend forwards. To stretch your back muscles, lie on the floor with your hands just about right next to your shoulders and push your torso up with your arms. For strength, you can try to lift your back up without your arms and with a weight on your legs so they don’t fly up.
As you get more experience in dance, you will learn more exercises that can help you at home.
The last piece of advice that I have for you is to buy a TheraBand. These are infinitely helpful little beasts with a million uses. Your teacher can show you some exercises with them if you ask, or you could just Google some.
Have fun with your classes!
